DOH! Silicon on Sunday, then

Long story short, worked at our work event this morning, and came out in a totally mysterious case of hives (didn't eat anything with nitrates in it, nothing) that perhaps MIGHT have come from doing the walk/run on the Arroyo Mocho trail (that's what the event was, in part). I wonder if, since this area of Livermore was reported today as now being a haven for West Nile virus, they sprayed down there by the arroyo and something set me off.

Anyway, got back to the Haven, finished printouts that folks needed, popped Benadryl (may cause drowsiness), to go along with the stuff I had taken earlier: Klonopin (may cause drowsiness), and Prozac (may cause drowsiness). Went home, showered in case whatever started the hives was topical, did fine for a while as I waited for the hives to go down, then got drowsy and went to take a "little nap" that lasted until...er...5:30. Still drowsy.

So, won't be at Silicon for the masquerade...I am sorry to my P3 peeps, and cheer you on from my home instead.

I will go Sunday, though, at least to say hi to folks.

DOH! Good freaking grief.

I can sympathise with that - being on major medication at the minute. Starting later today I have to take an antibiotic which may cause drowsiness. But I cant take it with the anti nausea tablets (4 times a day) which may cause - but you get the idea.

LOL! Indeed, I do. Sorry you're on major meds yourself. I hope they do their job and you begin to feel better as things go along.

a zillion years ago when I worked retail, I would break out in hives whenever I had to work in the stock room taking shirts out of the plastic bags they were shipped in. Apparently there was something in the bag itself or something sprayed in there (its on the tip of my tounge)...that I had a reaction to...given where you were getting bumps, it made me think that there might have been something with the shirt itself. Anyhoodles, not trying to be all "this is what happens to me therefore its whats happening to you", I hope are are feeling better, Family Fair just wasnt the same with out you.

That's interesting. I think you may be onto something, since the hives were mostly where the t-shirt was. (Although I got a few on my legs, so...huh.)

But yeah, I wonder.

Stupid hives. Stupid body. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Klonopin (wicked) and Prozac (double wicked.) I hope you feel better soon. If there is anything I can do to make you feel a little better, just let me know. *big hug*

Hey there Carolyn,

I'm thinking about emailing you since I can't seem to grab you on LJ, lol.

I'm thinking of visiting Modesto sometime after parade craziness is over... I must catch you at some point on the way. Now, it won't be for a few months (haven't been on the freeway since the accident), but would it be better to schedule way in advance or just kinda last-minute it?

HUGS

Probably better to schedule in advance because:

A. I have a brain like a sieve and...

B. My schedule can get filled up.

But I'd love to see you. How are you doing since the accident? *HUG*

I'm ok, still kinda scared of the freeway, but I know what I did wrong, so I know what not to do. Also still getting settled in with my new ride.

I'm emailing my modesto relative to see what she says about when is good to visit, but I will definitly let you know way in advance.

Now, how are YOU? HUG!

I am doing a LOT better. I am sorry you're still scared of the freeway but can't imagine you wouldn't be after an experience like that. Be gentle with yourself. The confidence will come back, over time. Maybe with setbacks here and there, but it'll come. You've been through a lot, and even though I know you're remarkably resilient, it doesn't mean the fear will go away immediately. :)

I'm thinking Veteran's Day, but I am still unsure of how I'll be. I'll keep ya posted.
